Olin Cranfill Memorial Scholarship

The Olin C. Cranfill Endowed Scholarship in Nursing was established in memory of Olin Crosby Cranfill, who passed away on November 26, 2008 at the age of 66. Olin graduated from King High School in 1960 and had numerous careers during his lifetime. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed for a time in Korea. After his discharge, he became a Winston-Salem Public Safety Officer. He also was a flight instructor and a corporate pilot for several years, but was most known for his work as a successful building contractor and real estate entrepreneur and developer. Olin was an avid golfer and outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing during his travels to South and Central America. Olin also loved to meet with his friends over breakfast or lunch and always had an endless supply of jokes and tales to keep them entertained.
